Stonewall Noise Orchestra - Constants In An Ever Changing Universe
(The Unit Music Co., 2008)

Adding to the never-ending list of quality Scandinavian bands, Sweden’s Stonewall Noise Orchestra may not be the most original band you’ll ever come across, and “Constants In An Ever Changing Universe” is definitely not going to win an award for the most groundbreaking album, there is however just something I find really appealing about them.

They’ve got a great sound for a start, groovy 70’s influenced Fuzz/Stoner Rock; think along the lines of Black Sabbath meets Kyuss with a bit of St Vitus thrown in for good measure. Of the 12 tracks however, there are unfortunately a few fillers that don’t sit as well when you compare them to the very Kyuss sounding “Skyscraper Movement”, the cool as hell “Hollow Parade” and the thunderous “Clone Baby”.

Having never heard of SNO before, I’m glad to have discovered them. Overall though, whilst the may not be the greatest of albums, there are some very, very good moments on here which is hopefully a sign of things to come. Keep an eye on these guys.
