Walk the Earth
Band: Silent Force
|
It's always good to come across new and exciting bands,
especially when they are as good as Silent Force.
They've got quite a star-studded line-up going on here, with Alex Beyrodt on guitar (known for his contributions to Primal Fear and Sinner), new Rage drummer Andre Hilgers and the fantastic DC Cooper (ex- Royal Hunt) handling the vocals duties. Vocally, he reminds me of Timo Kotipelto, but without the Finnish accent. "Walk the Earth", to put it bluntly is a fantastically deep and complex album that is well written, beautifully arranged and perfectly executed. If you're into Melodic/Power Metal a la Angra/Kotipelto/Helloween you cannot go wrong with this album. In fact, if you like good metal, be sure to check out "Walk the Earth". I personally think this is one of the best albums I've heard this year, and I'm confidant it will be there or thereabouts at the end of it. A fairly lengthy album (clocking in at just over an hour), but honestly, once it's over you will play it again. Thirteen tracks and not a single of one them are poor, it just gets better and better the more you hear it. I could gabble on about them for hours, but I will leave it to your good judgement to decide whether to take Silent Force any further. It your loss if you don't! Chris Rogers
