Norway's Obliteration are the latest signing to the Darkthrone run Tyrant Syndicate label, and this album, "Perpetual Decay" is the bands debut.

This time round we have some Old School Death Metal, similar at times to Autopsy and Dismember, only not as good. Obliteration like to keep things fast, which is a shame because there are some impressive heavy, mid-paced parts on here. It would be nice to have a break from the constant aggression, albeit only to break things up a bit and keep the album that little bit more interesting.

Still very young and, although there are signs of a decent band in the making, "Perptual Decay" is a hard listen. Aggressive for sure, but 10 tracks with very few changes is far too much to digest, and ultimately "Perpetual Decay" soon becomes repetative. Oh well, Darkthrone love them so they can’t be all that bad.
