Talk about getting straight to the point! Fast, action packed extreme metal from the off with very little leeway. It's fair to say that Lebanon is not really that accustomed when it comes to extreme metal bands, in fact I don't think I have ever heard on a Lebanese band at all, but top quality, technical Death/Grind with plenty of Black Metal influences is indeed the order of the day here. What makes Oath to Vanquish stand out from the rest of the crowd is that although the album if fairly technical, they aren't afraid to try new things be it from groovy breakdowns to the odd orchestral interlude too. The triple "guttural/scream" vocal attack also just builds on what is an overall a first-class album. They know exactly when to speed things up, slow things down and throw in a bit of complexity, which keeps it a thoroughly entertaining album. Not to sure about the comical song title such as "Toxic Bowel Movements" and "Sulphuric Semen" but if you're into the whole extreme Death/Grind/Black thing, be sure to check out this album.
