Iron Saviour
Megatropolis
Band: Iron Saviour
|
Once boasting a line-up that included Kai Hansen and Dan Zimmermann of Gamma Ray fame, as well as Blind Guardian Drummer Thomen Stauch, Iron Saviour is based around current Savage Circus bassist/guitarist Piet Sielck, who, this time steps up to lead vocals.
Iron Saviour has always been somewhat, over shadowed by German Power/Speed Metal Titans such as Gamma Ray and Helloween, but what they have done on "Megatropolis" will surely make others stand up and take notice. With songs such as "The Omega Men", "Megatropolis", "Cybernatic Queen" and "Cyber Hero", they continue with their Sci-Fi/Fantasy theme's and, musically, whilst they may not be the most original band that you'll come across, "Megatropolis" is one of the catchiest and most nostalgic Metal albums I've heard in good while. Piet Sielck's voice fits this type of music perfectly. Harsh and gravely, yet he can get up and reach the high notes with ease. This is a fantastic Heavy Metal album that is unbelievably infectious; you simply will not be able to get enough of it. This is an album should be heard, and, hopefully not overlooked. Chris Rogers
