Hate Gallery - Compassion Fatigue
(The Unit Music Co., 2008)
The Finnish via London rock group Hate Gallery consists of Janne Jarvis and Rille Lundell of Warrior Soul fame, along with crazed Finnish Guitarist Petja Lepola and drummer Freddie Cocker, former drummer of Swedish pop-rockers The Callahan.
Coming across as a blend of Feeder and a more “wimpy” Motorhead, Hate Gallery have definitely got the whole Scandinavian Rock N Roll thing down to a tee. There’s nothing particularly bad about “Compassion Fatigue” at all, in fact it gets of to a pretty good start with the first single “The Idiots” and there’s some pretty meaty riffs, but the majority of the album is very samey, and without any real distinction between the songs, they tend to just blur together.
No Doubt they would sound fantastic in the live arena, but the album is just too repetitive for my liking.
