Gus G’s Greek power metal masters Firewind have been confirmed as Saturday headliners at the new UK metal Festival Hellfire Fest!

Hellfire, which is the latest in an ever-increasing succession of Metal Festivals to be held in the UK, has returned in 2009 after a hugely successful debut last year seeing bands such as Ted Maul, Malefice and Trigger The Bloodshed step up to provide two days of beer-fueled brutality.

The festival returns this February and it’s been blown up a notch with the addition of an extra day and an even higher brow line-up. Thrash lords Overkill and Sabbat are headlining on Friday and Sunday respectively accompanied by such newcomers as Alestorm and Gama Bomb.

Hellfire was created with a view to raising the profile of British Metal and with the exception of perhaps Iron Maiden, they’ve compiled a line up which showcases British talent as well as possible with a few bands from other countries thrown in.

The event will run from the 20th to the 22nd of February at Londons Islington Academy.
