Metal Mayhem UK Invades Rocklahoma

Rocklahoma, known for its abundance of 80s hair metal bands, begins its third annual festival July 9th. Hosted on a 400-acre farm site in the sweltering summer humidity in Oklahoma, USA.

Bands playing on the main stage this year include Anthrax, Saxon, Overkill, Anvil, RATT, Lizzy Borden, Metal Church, Twisted Sister, Thin Lizzy and many, many more.

God Dethroned Interview

"That’s difficult to answer because I wanted to write an album about WWI, but I didn’t want to refer to a certain country. I didn’t want to take a political stand. I didn’t want to say something good or bad about a certain country, so I tried to write the whole album from a neutral point of view, which made it difficult. I had to write lyrics about objective things that happened during WWI without referring to a certain country, so I tried to pick out certain events and describe them!"

80’S NWOBHM oUTFIT STAMPEDE REFORM!

Reuben Archer, lead singer of '80s hard rock outfit STAMPEDE is set to reform the band after 26 years. A date of September 19, 2009 at The Robin 2 in Bilston, Wolverhampton has been set for the reunion gig.

The band line-up will feature original members Reuben Archer (vocals), Laurence Archer (guitar) and Colin Bond (bass). Clive Edwards, formerly of Pat Travers, Wild Horses and UFO, will replace Eddie Parsons on drums as Eddie's whereabouts is unknown.... [More]
